Workout Log: August 4 – 10

Hey Look, I'm Water Skiing!I wanted to push myself hard for this last “normal” week of August — the last week of the kids being in day camp and me having dedicated time¬†at home for me!

When I set the schedule of workouts, I knew that Saturday was going to consist of driving up to my parents place just outside of Vancouver, BC and likely the start of a less-than-scheduled week of workouts.

Monday started with a 6am walk with a personal training client. She was gearing up for a vacation with her family, and decided that it was more important to keep her body moving than to do focused training — so we took a 30 minute walk including hills. Sam and I did Focus T25 Gamma Rip’T Up in the evening. I love working out with my husband and Shaun T’s Focus T25 is always a great option (btw, did you know that Focus T25 is on sale this month??)

Tuesday was back to Les Mills Pump with a 34 minute barbell workout ūüôā

Wednesday included another walk with my client and then the event I had been waiting for all summer!

Water Skiing on Lake Sammamish!!

I have a great friend who’s parents live on Lake Sammamish. Every year I take the girls out to the lake to go swimming and on the boat. We went after lunch on Wednesday.

We started things off with a swim in the lake, then got on the boat. I got the life jacket on and we settled in for my first {and only} water skiing run. I jumped right in and put on my skis, grabbed the rope and off we went! I got right up and started my run. There really is nothing like the feeling of wind in my hair as I go fast! I went back and forth across the wake and had a great time! Eventually I decided that the girls would want to have their turn at fun, so I let go of the rope and ended my skiing adventure for the day. When I got back into the boat, we decided to let the kids out on the inner tube, so back to the house to fetch it! While en route, my friend’s dad (who absolutely loves to let the kids drive the boat) gave each of them a¬†turn at the wheel.

Not exactly my workout, but I wanted to share a few pictures of the kids on the inner tube!

Back to at-home workouts…

Thursday and Friday I worked out with Sam…. Thursday we did Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance on the XBox One. Friday we were planning on doing Focus T25 Gamma Speed 3.0 but fortunately Sam remembered that our disc has either a scratch on it or else something “gummy” that doesn’t allow it to play through… we’re going to get the disc replaced, so we did the bonus workout from the Alpha/Beta Pack — Core Speed. It was fun and I didn’t twist my ankle on the one-handed burpees this time!

Saturday morning I did Les Mills Pump, Pump & Shred shortly after waking up and shortly before packing myself and the kids for a trip North to my parents house. When we got here, we had lunch and then went downtown to watch the cruise ships leave the port. It was another workout — had Hayden on my back for part of the walk too!

Sunday was planned as P90X3 Yoga, but I passed on it and opted to spend the time with family instead.

Vacation Week Part 1

So for this week, I’m going to be less than rigorous with my workouts… the weather is really hot and while at home we have Air Conditioning, at my parents we don’t! Here’s a tentative plan…

  • Monday: Walk with mom, Swim with Kids
  • Tuesday: Swim with Kids, P90X3 Yoga
  • Wednesday:¬†Walk with my mom and her friend
  • Thursday: P90X3 Triometrics
  • Friday: Les Mills Pump, Pump & Burn with dumbbells instead of the barbell
  • Saturday: Walking at Whistler
  • Sunday: Who knows!!!
